Mac: Use Tab To Move Keyboard Focus

I try to use keyboard shortcuts as much as possible and one of the few things I think Windows does better than Mac OS X (by default) is to let the user be able to shift focus in dialog boxes and through-out the OS using the keyboard. Let’s say you want to select “Cancel” instead of the pre-selected “OK” in a dialog box, just hit tab and enter and you’re done instead of moving that mouse pointer all the way over there.
I mentioned “by default” earlier since the support for tab/shift-tab navigation in Mac OS X actually exists, you just need to enable it; its just enabled for text boxes and lists by default. The checkbox is located at the bottom of the Keyboard Shortcuts section of the Keyboard & Mouse preference pane (some apps might need restarting before you notice the difference).
