Eftersom Apples mjukvara (Mac OS, iTunes, Quicktime etc) är designat att gå hand i hand med deras hårdvara – vare sig det är din MacBook, iPhone eller iPod – är det väldigt intressant att notera skillnaderna när de introducerar dem, som med nya iTunes 9. Garrett Murray (Maniacal Rage) har satt ihop två screenshots av iTunes 8 vs iTunes 9 precis som det såg ut innan han uppdaterade.

Förutom skillnaderna Snow Leopard bjuder på (som smalare scrollbars) verkar högblankt komma tillbaka igen. Mac OS har ju blivit mattare och mattare de senaste åren, men iTunes 9 har verkligen fått mer metallisk känsla, ikonerna har fått starkare färger och bjuder på mer kontrast och blänket är definitivt tillbaka i “glaset”.

Just mention “powerpoint” and I feel my eyelids grow heavier. Good thing there’s people out there trying to evolve the world of presentations; Afterglow is a pretty cool take on the laser pointers some people use to point out particularly interesting parts of their presentations. The system uses a USB-connected camera to allow you to interact with the presentation, just sit there and use the laser dot as a drawing tool, point out errors, emphasize important stuff, control the mouse pointer or just.. well, draw moustaches on the clipart people.

It’s awesomely smart too so you can put the camera pretty much anywhere and it still figures out where to draw your doodles.
