Vienna Not Updating Your Feeds Anymore?

Vienna Mac RSS ReaderVienna, my Mac RSS reader of choice, recently stopped updating most of my feeds and I just couldn’t get it to work again no matter what. A nice case of likely database corruption according to the developers. Anyway, I was stupid enough to hastily erase its database (located in “~/Library/Application Support/Vienna/messages.db”) figuring it just held the posts, not the actual subscriptions, but no. I found myself with a blank and subscription-less client. Tried to help it but instead I lobotomized it completely. Bummer indeed.

If you’d find yourself in the same situation I advice you to first export the database, quit Vienna, move messages.db to another location (or just rename it) and then restart Vienna to import the recently exported version. This way your database gets recreated and hopefully you get to keep both your subscriptions and content, worst case scenario is that you lose some of your content but still get to keep all of your subscriptions. Better than a clean slate at least.
